Who we are

Welcome to Croghan AC, a member of Athletics Association of Ireland.

Croghan AC was founded in  2012 in the village of Coolgreany, North County Wexford and quickly expanded to cover Gorey town and its surroundings.  Our thriving club now includes over 100 Senior and 100 Juvenile members who compete at all levels in athletics within a friendly and supportive environment.

Croghan AC’s Senior membership includes a diverse range of abilities and aims to ensure that athletes, of all abilities, have a group to run with and the necessary support to improve both pace and endurance.

From our ‘Couch to 5K’ graduates to our elite County and Ultra Champions we provide a welcoming home for everyone who is committed to running either individually or as part of a team.

Training for Senior men and women is held at 7pm on Tuesday and Thursday from Gorey Town Park. Potential new members are welcome to drop in and join the group for up to three sessions before officially joining the club.

Croghan AC will be an anchor-tenant in the new multi-purpose sports complex being developed in St Walerans, Gorey. Our members have been speer-heading this initiative along with local councillors and representatives for several years.

Our high successful Juvenile group boasts some very talented young athletes and their activities range from track and cross country to javelin and shotput. The Juvenile group meets at 6.30pm on Wednesday in Coolgreany Community Field. Our experienced coaches ensure that all our young athletes improve their skills whilst at the same time having fun and building confidence.
